Mutantia.ch, in cooperation with the Extinction Rebellion Ecuador group, today launches the campaign “¡Let the fear go! ”. In the coming days and weeks, the floor will be given to those who have already thought about the post-pandemic period, and who have ideas for a different way of living together.
May 4, 2020, Quito. - As of today, the quarantine measures for Covid-19 in Ecuador are becoming more flexible little by little. The national government decided to lift the health emergency, in force since March 17 of this year, despite the fact that dozens of doctors, epidemiologists, public health workers and representatives of Human Rights warned against lifting it.
In a letter to President Lenín Moreno, they stressed that this exit can bring “serious consequences", Since the population does not have"the necessary tools, care and protection”.
Either way, with or without masks, with or without gloves: the prospects for the future seem bleak, not only for Ecuador. Thousands if not millions of people around the planet have lost their jobs and homes, and experts speak of the worst global crisis since World War II. The UN estimates that by the end of 2020 the number of hungry people will double to 265 million.
All these data can cause fear, even panic, since uncertainty has become ubiquitous, and no one knows what will happen tomorrow. From mutantia.ch we want to counteract these feelings, because a people with fear is a weak people. And a weak people are easier to dominate than one aware of their abilities and strengths. We need people who despite the situation can free themselves from the shackles of fear and judge events critically, today more than ever. We need to plan and shape the post-pandemic time, because it is already on its way. And it is obvious that as a species we cannot return to the daily life of before, which we thought was what “normal”. Why? Because it was too hostile, both for nature and for humanity itself.
That's why mutantia.ch, in cooperation with the Extinction Rebellion Ecuador group, today launches the campaign "Let fear go!" In the coming days and weeks, the floor will be given to those who have already thought about the post-pandemic period, and who have ideas for a different way of living together.
We also need the first and last name of the person, and a photo that shows it outside your home, perhaps in a place in nature that you like. Anyone who wants to share something and contribute to the collective construction of the post-Covid-19 reality can participate. Please send your suggestions including a photo in German, French, Italian, Spanish or English to the following email: [email protected]
We look forward to your proposals.
Greetings and health - mutantia.ch & Extinción Rebelión Ecuador
