Thesoya milkis originally from China and secondvegetable milkmost consumed in the world: in 2011 it was only surpassed by almond milk. The origin of thesoya milkit dates back to the first Han dynasty (from 202 BC to 9 AD) and only later did it spread strongly to Japan and Korea.
Soy milk or cow's milk
When it comes to anyvegetable milk, the comparison with thecow milkit arises immediately.
In fact, cow's milk cannot be compared with anyvegetable milkbecause the one prepared from dried soybeans (soy milk), from coconut sprouts (coconut milk), from almonds (almond milk), from grains of brown rice (rice milk), from cashews (milk of cashew) comes aloneimproperlydefinedmilk but it has nothing to do with milk! Technically, what we call itsoya milkit is nothing more than a drink consisting of an emulsion of fats, carbohydrates and proteins suspended in water.
Having made the necessary premise, let's immediately say that thesoya milkis cholesterol-free, is a source of lecithin and vitamin E. Most ofsoya milkthat we find on the market is added with vitamin B12 and calcium.
Soy milk, contraindications
The presence of phytoestrogens in thesoya milkmakes this food not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. There are controversies surrounding the role of soy-derived phytoestrogens: some studies link soy phytoestrogens with breast cancer and others with decreased sex drive and fertility problems. Otherscontraindicationsconcern allergy sufferers: soy milk is not allergen-free. Correlations between soy milk intake and thyroid disorders are not excluded.

Unlike whole cow's milk, thesoya milkit has little fat and does not bring cholesterol. Despite thecontraindicationscited previously, there is no shortage of studies that highlight the beneficial properties of soy milk: the consumption ofsoya milkwas related to a decrease in levels ofbad cholesterolin the blood.

Natural soy milk contains only 33 kcal per 100 ml of product. Thesoya milkthat we find on the market contains about 54 kcal, more than semi-skimmed milk.

A cow can produce an average of 40 liters of milk per day.
