How to do? Remove furniture, chairs, tables and any obstruction.
Spread the carpet roll on the floor and mark (NOT BY HAND! But with the help of lines and squares) with chalk the outline of the room, keeping a generous pinch. Remember that excesses can be cut away while an overly narrow cut will force you to sacrifice the roll.
If the sheet is not wide enough to cover the entire floor, you will be forced to put two rolls together. Cross them along the seam by overlapping them by at least 4 cm, take this into account when taking measurements for the cuts.
To cut carpet, avoid scissors, use a cutter to guide with the ruler or use a special tool. Among the various tools on the market we point out the one with the best value for money, offered on Amazon for 14.99 euros with free shipping.
How to lay carpet with glue
The traditional method for thecarpet layinginvolves the use of a special glue. The solvent-based glue for carpets is easy to apply: just help yourself with a notched steel trowel. The notched trowel will not allow the formation of air bubbles allowing perfect adhesion of the carpet.
Start applying glue in one corner and along the entire length of the carpet roll to be laid. Apply the glue to only 80 cm of floor.
Place the roll near the wall making sure that the edge is in contact with the skirting board (or slightly raised from the wall in case of excess cut).
Start unrolling the part of the carpet to be glued along the first 80 cm. Climb on the glued part of the carpet and apply more glue just in front of the roll, then continue to spread and proceed in this way until the end of the roll.
