This device is composed of a coil (a spiral of copper wires) around which an alternating electric current is passed. This step produces an alternating magnetic field in turn.
The variation of the electro-magnetic field attracts, in a discontinuous way, the ferrous molecules (effect of “magnetism”) generating a very rapid motion (electromotive force).
The electromotive force, in turn, generates induced electric currents (known as eddy currents) which, by circulating within the material of the pot placed on the stove, are able to produce heat. In practice, the currents dissipate energy in the form of heat (Joule effect) causing the pot to heat up.
The scheme ofoperationof the induction hob can be abbreviated as follows: the power supply generates an electronic circuit which, thanks to the induction coil, generates a magnetic field capable of dissipating the electromotive force into heat.
